Joey Pollari is an actor, musician, writer, and director hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Having worked with such directors as Greg Berlanti, John Ridley, Gregg Araki, Rachel Morrison, Kimberly Pierce, and Fernando Meirelles, Joey has worked in a breadth of genres and projects, including “American Crime” (ABC), “Love, Simon” (20th Century Fox), and “Sugar” (AppleTV+).
As a musician, he has released two full-length albums under his own name, both produced in collaboration with engineer and producer Theo Karon (Angel Olsen, Julia Holter, Kamasi Washington). He edited several music videos for the project, and has directed many more in a range of expressions. In the last year, his work has premiered and been shown in Wonderland, Dazed, Man About Town, Pride, and Beat! Mag.
As a writer, his personal essays have been published in The Queer Bible and PORT Magazine. This year, he is self-producing his next record: a jukebox record about persona and desire in city life. He resides in Los Angeles.
