Eric Roberts is a Georgia, US native, whose first professional acting job in front of a camera ANOTHER WORLD at age 19 in New York. He entered into features in KING OF THE GYPSIES at 21 and earned multiple Golden Globe nominations and an Oscar nomination. One of his favorite jobs was the portrayal of “Junior” in Danny McBride’s RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES.
His professional accomplishments can be found easily. Even his date of birth is a click away. The purpose of this “Bio” is to offer something not available on imdb. As to the reason behind the project count on that imdb page…Eric always says that there hasn’t been a project yet where he’s not walked away with something of value. A friendship, a lesson, a moment. And saying yes to most things removes the pressure involved in waiting over a year for a movie release or a series debut and risking high hopes with far to fall. We’re not soothsayers. We don’t know what is going to hit and what is going to crash. So “Just say ‘Yes’” has served Eric well, and he hopes has served an audience and the groups he’s part of on set well.
Eric is kind of an old-timey actor who came from theatre. Eric never ceases to be hit with a wave of gratitude over the fact that he can call himself “Actor” and not be dreaming. For some mysterious reason, theatrical credits are not included on the Internet Movie Data Base. Well, maybe because it’s a “Movie” Data Base.
Nor are music videos, which have brought Eric a whole young-timey audience. He made proud appearances in music videos from The Killers, Keaton Simons, Akon, Ja Rule, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and numerous artists from around the world Eric is married to ANIMAL HOUSE's “Brunella” AKA Eliza Roberts. They've been married since 1992.
As with many artists, Eric's proudest accomplishments have grown to be his family and his real-world concerns. These include naturalchild.org and the kids: Recording Artist, Keaton Simons, Chef & Baker, Morgan Simons, Actress, Emma Roberts, and the grandkids, Georgia, Rhodes & Magnolia.
From Eric himself
I’m a guy who loves to read…Old timey books, printed between covers.
I’ve been married for nearly decades, to the same person.
And I go to bed really early and drink iced green tea with no ice.
My wife puts extra ice in everything. And somehow, we’ve managed to rise above that difference.
What means the most to me is kindness and compassion and doing something to help.
